Ingrid Zygute
Dance Facilitator

As far back as I remember, I have been dancing.  First - as a child - dancing alone, then - as I grew older - dancing with others. From the kitchen floor to the disco floor, from parties to festivals, and so on. I have experienced the pure joy of rhythm dancing in different landscapes, on different continents, to the beat of many different forms of music.

Eventually the journey brought me inwards, opening the doorway to the dancer in my soul, discovering that - whatever the setting, whoever the people, whatever the music - the essence of dance always remains the same; the essence of spirit.

My journey was radically transformed when I met teacher David Mooney. In his Embodiment class I found something I hadn’t even known I’d lost; I rediscovered the route back to myself.

Deepening my practice with him, I discovered the rich healing that dance can offer. Under his guidance I learned to tune in to myself in a way that proved liberating. This gave me the freedom to connect with other dancers in a more meaningful way. This led to a new discovery on the dance floor; a more genuine connection with others deepend my connection to myself. And the more I connected with myself, the more I healed.

Later I attended the dance workshops of Aragorn Boulanger. He taught me how to feel into my body more, while simultaneously increasing my attentiveness to the essence of dance. In this way, he showed me how much control I still held in my movement practice. With this newfound awareness, I learned that surrendering to the flow - letting go of control  - gave me a more profound sense of liberation.

In learning to love dance, I learned to love myself.

That which I learned from the teachers above - and that which I learned from other spiritual teachers - I wish to share with others. In this way ‘Move with Ingrid’ was born.
